THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE SOME POEMS THAT I HAVE WRITTEN IN THE PAST

A CITY RAIN
( I won an honourable mention with this poem which was judged by The League Of Canadian Poets)
The flash of a neon monster glimmers
upon the wet pavement, as the people
run for shelter
from the evening rain.

Car headlights shine on the wet asphalt,
and the air smells so
fresh and clean, as nature
washes away our dirt.

People running from door to door to
keep from getting wet, while others
hug to the sides of the
towering buildings.

Windshield wipers beat endlessly, their
rhythmic patterns, as they wait
impatiently through the
red, amber, green.

It’s nights like this, that make me
feel life is worth living.
And if I had my way, I’d have it washed
every week.
